I have been MIA from the blogging world for too long!
So here is the big update.
This post has our top 12 in 2012! It's short sweet and to the point. :)
Jake is now a recreational management major at BYUI. He was in business but it was just not his cup of tea. That's okay with me! Have you seen Gilmore Girls?? Business men are pigs. Haha. The plan is still becoming a seminary teacher and if it is meant to happen then it will and if it is not then something else will come along. The main thing is that Jake is about to enjoy school for the first time in his life. I am SO excited and SO happy for him!
I am still doing Home and Family and seriously, people, I love it! I guess I am old fashioned in today's world because I just love the homemaking things that I am learning.
Jake is still Mr. Workaholic, which, don't get me wrong, is a good thing! But he sure is busy. He works at On the Spot Cleaning and Restoration, he works as the in town manager/repairman for four townhouses, where we used to live. That comes in waves. Either nothing is happening or unit A and C are both moving and unit B has a broken dishwasher and unit D broke down a door and needs it repaired, etc. It all happens at once and keeps Jake super busy for a weekend and then it'll slow down for a while. He also still works on cars for family and friends, which comes in waves as well. And then of course, horseshoeing which is seasonal.
I work at Carlisle Beauty still. We get along, mostly ;).
Jake and I also started working for the HOA at the condo we bought. We vacuum the garage and hallways twice a month. It covers our monthly HOA fee so that works out nicely. I have a little post about it here.
We are partnering with Dane and Shalina to flip a house during our off track! We have a break from April-September. We got a house, next door to Dane and Shalina (WAY too convenient, we're super lucky!) We live like 7 minutes away. Jake is overly excited! Some of our projects include replacing carpet throughout, replacing kitchen and bathroom floors, repainting the walls, replacing the siding, fixing up the sun room, remodeling the laundry room and master bedroom, taking down popcorn ceiling and mudding it, doing a counter restore on the kitchen and one of the bathrooms counters, replacing windows, replacing interior doors, and a little bit of yard work.
We are loving living in our own place that is all ours and having the freedom to paint it and make changes. Read about our move into the condo here.

The Death of Mr. Hulk
Remember Hulk, our vacuum? Read about him here. He has been such a good vacuum for us and we were rather find of him. Well in our condo there is a plug that is for the AC, it's a 220 plug, which apparently means that normal things can't be plugged in there. Well we did not realize this and so we plugged the Hulk in and turned him on. BAM he exploded. It smelled so freakin' bad! He looked like a firework. So we threw him away, had no idea what happened.
Jake and I vacuum for the HOA at the condo as I mentioned in this post. So we went and grabbed the condo's vacuum and plugged it on in right in the same deathly plug. Turned it on and what do you know? It died, too! It smelled SO BAD in our house! It was awful! Oh, by the way, Ben and his girlfriend Kaye were visiting us for the weekend when all this happened.
I had some sort of fit! I was laughing so hard and could not stop! I was freaking out because we just ruined two expensive vacuums and one of them was not even ours but somehow I was laughing so hard I was crying and it was just ridiculous haha.
Fortunately, the HOA president felt like the plug should have been marked and so he paid for a new HOA vacuum, which you can read about here.
Dane and Shalina just bought themselves a super awesome new vacuum so they gave us their old one! So kind.
I wish I had taken a picture of the dead Mr. Hulk but he pretty much looked the same and his burial was in the big yellow dumpster out back. There's a good enough image for ya!

12 in 2012
Here are our twelve biggest happenings in 2012~

1. We moved from the townhouse to the Cromwells basement.
2. Jake lost his job at Oswald and started working at On the Spot Cleaning and Restoration.
3. We moved from the Cromwell's basement to the Rice's house for house-sitting.
4. Jake was kicked in the head by a horse.
5. We attended the funeral of Adam and Jennie's sweet baby, Lauren.
6. We celebrated our one year anniversary at Lava Hot Springs.
7. We rode Lia for the first time and made a ton of progress in training her. Lia posts here, here, here, here, here, and here.
8. We attended my aunt Teilani's wedding and because of that my mom, Sari, Joseph, and Matthew visited!
9. Jed got back from his mission and the three musketeers were reunited.
10. Lia and I went riding and camping in the mountains for our first time with Jake, Dad C., Jed, Tyson, and Memrie. And we camped in Yellowstone for our first time with three of our friends.
11. We moved from the Rice's house to an apartment.
12. We moved from the apartment to a condo that we are buying from Mom and Dad C.
It was a crazy, exciting, stressful, fun, blessed year with lots of new things for us! I hope 2013 will be less stressful, just as exciting, and full of more new things (just *NOT* a new home)!

Our (old) New Apartment
This has taken me so long to post because I never uploaded the pictures! Here it finally is, even though we moved again over a month ago!
In our fifteen months of marriage we have moved FIVE times. That's an average of every three months! We lived in Rexburg for 1 month, the townhouse for 7 months, the Cromwells basement for 3 months, and the Rices house for 4 months! We hate moving!
We live like 10 minutes away from Lia, 2 minutes away from Carlisle Beauty (where I work), and less than a minute away from the road we take to go to Rexburg for school and to Jake's work. It's a great location. It's a super nice area so I feel safe being home alone.
We started looking for an apartment in August because the Rices got home from their mission in October. I wrote this back in September. The Rice's are home now) and that's going to be the middle of the semester and we're both going to be in school and working 20-30 hours a week so that would just be too much to add moving to our list (sure enough, we would have died. We were so busy with school!). So we decided to move before school started. We found an apartment and went to go look at it. It was okay... super super tiny (our king bed would not have fit in either bedroom.) and the neighbors were SO scary. It was also a scary looking area and we were going to have to pay ALL utilities- trash, sewer, water, power, gas, everything. Jake asked the lady if she had a list of other apartments for sale and she did! So we saw this one on there and I recognized it as where one of the hairdressers I work with lives so we went to go look at it and we loved it! We called to see if we could look at it and they said that the people had moved out of it the day before! So the maintenance lady met us there and said that the apartment hadn't even been checked yet to make sure it was cleaned out. Well it was. It was spotless. And it wasn't supposed to have a washer and dryer but the previous tenants left theirs!!! She asked if we would want it and we said YES! (We had so been hoping to put off buying a washer and dryer for as long as possible!). She had us fill out an application and we went on our way! Well in the next couple of days the lady who handles applications had so many problems with ours. My background check was saying that I didn't exist, none of our references were answering their phones, etc. Finally I told her that if it helped, our previous landlords (at the townhouse) had moved to Utah and hired Jake and I to be their onsite managers because we had the cleanest apartment they had ever seen when we moved out. I also mentioned that we were going back to BYUI in a few weeks. She loved that. So she said she'd pass that on and call me back. Well the next day she called and said we got it!! YAY! We feel so blessed and lucky because if it hadn't gone exactly like it did then we would not have been the first application and we wouldn't have gotten it.
We LOVE IT! Its' small, but not Rexburg apartment small! It's just right. I wish the pantry was bigger but besides that I don't think I would change a thing.
We went to our new ward last Sunday and they are so nice. There was a cute couple with a little girl sitting behind us and they introduced themselves to Jake and I. I love people who are friendly like that, it makes it so much easier! From what we can tell (it was labor day weekend so maybe a lot of people were just out of town) it is mostly an older people ward... There was one young man passing the sacrament. The rest were old men! Even the two blessing the sacrament were old! It was adorable, actually. There were a few families who had little kids. For Sunday school Jake and I went to a family relations class that they just started. It was AWESOME! There was only 12 people including Jake and I and the teachers! At first I thought it was so intimidating because it's easier to make everyone participate f there are not a lot of people and what if I have a stupid answer?? Haha. But I really ended up loving it. It was so much more personal and it's a topic that I love and it was easier for me to comment and participate. The teachers were AWESOME. I hope word doesn't spread about how great the class is because I want it to stay small and personal like it is! ;)
Update now that it's been a month or two... We still love the ward. We spoke in sacrament meeting the week after conference and since then people know us a little better. We work in the nursery together and LOVE it but miss our awesome sunday school class. But it's worth it because heaven knows I need my baby fix.

Yellowstone Camp Out!!
Jake and I went camping with Jared and Katelyn Daniels and another friend, Alex! We stayed two nights and had a blast.
We ate at Big Jud's. It was SO GOOD!
We saw lots of gorgeous waterfalls
We saw a ton of bison, birds, squirrels, and elk! We were hoping to see wolves (like, while we were safely in the car!) but no luck there!
We stopped at Mammoth Springs! I can't even imagine how pretty it was back when it was all alive and flowing still! Now there are only a few areas that are colorful and active.
We went to artist paintpots. It was a really fun and long walk. I love stuff like this, it is absolutely fascinating!!
We also saw old faithful, the upper, middle, and lower geysers, and a few other small stops. And I have like 15 more pictures that I wanted to put on here but I'm going to be lame and not upload any more! I'm DONE with bloggers layout it's so slow and annoying.
