On Ant World News Tonight- Breaking News

"There has been a huge massacre taken place tonight among our ant population. The Cromwell home has been a place of refuge and lots of food and shelter for our ant groups for over 20 years, so it was a huge surprise when their son, Jake, pulled out the Raid and used it on the poor swarm of ants under the counter in the kitchen. It has been reported that there were over 2,000 ants killed in this massacre. Few survived to escape. Our reporter ants have determined that the daughter in law of the Cromwells, Rachel, is to blame for this mass murder. She is a hater of all things small and crawly and creepy and gross. We hear that she will not live there for forever so we can soon reclaim our spot under the counters and in the corners of the Cromwell home again. Until that day, we would highly warn all ants to stay clear of the Cromwell's basement, that is where she keeps watch. We will announce when her presence is no longer a danger to our ant community."

P.S. Jake has killed another three mice since my post on the first dead mouse.

Jake's Job

Jake works at On The Spot Cleaning and Restoration and loves it. This week he bought the tools that he needs to do his job without mooching off of the other guys he works with. My husband sure does like tools, and jobs that require him to buy more of his own tools (Tons of tools for Outfitters, more tools for Oswald Industries, and now even more for On The Spot). He always says, "a man is only as good as his tools." It was like Christmas all over again.

Jake really likes the people that work for this company. They are good guys. A much better atmosphere that the last two jobs he worked at. He loves it.

Homemade Lunch

Every day that I have school and work my sweet husband makes me a lunch in the morning before he goes to work. It's two PB/honey (mixed together in a bowl before hand) sandwiches, sliced apples, an orange with a little cut in the peel so I can peel it easily, crackers to snack on, and some sort of candy or treat. And sometimes he adds a little note. I remember my mom and dad used to put notes in my lunches and I still have them! I love surprise notes. And I love that Jake loves me so much and takes such good care of me. What a good man! I'm so lucky!!

A Great Day With Lia!

So I love my job but it's TORTURE!!!! I work every Saturday, when Jake is off, and the last few have been so sunny and nice out and Jake does fun things all day and gets tan and I am stuck in a small building filled with too much estrogen. ;)

So today, Sunday, I was so determined to be outside with Lia all day. We got home from church (still loving the library) and ate crepes and then we went out and spent four hours with her. I took 234 pictures! Haha!

First we brushed her, as usual. And you know she loves you when she starts nibbling you with her weird lip!

Then we played follow the leader. It's so fun to get her to follow you around without a rope!

Then we led her around with a rope, because she needs to know that too.

Then we practiced putting on the bit and getting her to keep her head down

Then Jake wiped her nose for me... HAHAHAHAHA! Here's how that went:
Me: Jake... She has a messy nose.
Jake: Yeah. Horses always do. Just ignore it.
Me: Okay...
*about 30 seconds*
Me: Jake it's really gross. She needs a tissue or something.
Jake: Hahaha!.... are you serious?
Me: Mhmm.
Jake: *sigh* this horse is going to think she's human.

Then we practiced getting used to the blanket on both sides

Then Jake trimmed her feet. She gets trimmed way more often than the Cromwell's horses but that's good for their feet! It means they will stay strong. Interesting fact- horses with black hooves have stronger, healthier feet than horses with lighter hooves. Yay Lia!
