Carlisle Beauty

I have a job! And I really like it! I'm a receptionist at Carlisle Beauty. But really the job is a lot more than just a receptionist. It's not only answering the phone and making appointments, but it's also doing multiple loads of laundry a day, cleaning the building, helping customers buy products, keeping everything stocked, letting the girls know what they have when, making sure they are not falling behind schedule, if they are I need to figure out how to fix it, and a few other little things. It's a lot of multi-tasking and a lot of going going going. The hard part is getting to know the girls really well and know how booked I can make their different schedules and what bugs them and then knowing the hair products enough to help the customers. If I can get that down then I'll be great and I know I will really love it. I love feeling useful and being busy with stuff that I'm good at. I'm so excited to get more familiar with everything! I'm lucky to have this job! :)

Put a Bird On It!

Last night at 5 am Jake and I both woke up to the birds chirping. There was one bird that was closer than the rest and was being super annoying. I was still half asleep and was kinda picturing what kind of bird it was. After like 5 minutes Jake goes, "that is freakin annoying!" lol! He jumped out of bed and stormed out of the room. I was imagining all these crazy things he was going to do, still half asleep. I'm picturing him running outside trying to scare it away and other crazy things hahaha. Well he comes back in and I'm blind as can be so I still don't know whats going on. But he pops the screen out and SHOOTS A BB GUN!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I just busted up laughing! Are you seriously trying to shoot the bird? Did you seriously know where a BBgun was at your parents house? (they're at Bear Lake and Jake has work today so we stayed at the Cromwell's last night) Then he got in bed and we laughed about it til like 5:30 it was sooooo funny. Now that I'm typing this no one is going to laugh about it but I'm still randomly guffawing to myself lol it was somehow so hilarious to me..... The last thing I ever expected was that he was grabbing a bb gun to shoot the bird that was singing outside....... Hahahahahaha what the heck. Anyways I mostly wrote this for Jake and I because every time we look back on this we will have a good laugh again. :)

Bear Lake, June

The Cromwell's were at Bear Lake all week! Jake had to work so we were only there on Saturday. But we had a BLAST the one day we were there! Half of the family stayed in the mountain cabin, half of them stayed in the lake cabin. Jake and I slept in the Mountain cabin Friday night. Saturday we ate a delicious breakfast that my sister in law Jennie prepared and then we went to the lake cabin! We took the jet skiis out first, SO MUCH FUN! I could seriously go all day but it's more fun when Jake is on it with me because then I'm more brave so I do more waves and circles and things and he was getting bored so...... We didn't do that all day. But I totally could have!! We went out again later and the nieces and nephews took turns coming with us.

These cuties are two of Zsahnae's kids, Vennis and Livy.

Later on in the day we went boating! It was pretty crazy with so many kids but it was also so much fun because of the kids.

While Zsahnae was showing off her mad surfing skills i got to hold her youngest, Novie! Look how cute she is with her legs crossed like that! I know it looks like she's asleep but she was wide awake.

This is how you normally see Novie, with her mom being shy! So I was really excited that she let me hold her and she didn't even cry!

Jake, Tyson, Zsahnae, and Kayla did all the crazy stuff in the FREEZING cold water. But, they all have dry suits (wet suits maybe?) so that's why. I got a bunch of pics of Jake and Kayla but thats it.

Some shots of Jake:

If you knew how rare it is for Jake to wipe out you would be twice as impressed with this picture as you already are!! ;)

I just realized Jake isn't wearing his wet suit in these pics.... So fine actually he is just crazy. But later on when it was cooler in the day and he went wake boarding, he put on his wet/dry suit.

Some shots of Kayla:

I really lucked out because I just love my nieces and nephews! They are so cute and so fun. I didn't get many pictures of Jake and I with them but I got a few!

Jake with Livy, Vennis, and Ziah outside the mountain cabin Sunday morning!

Me eating breakfast with some of my cutest nieces! Addison, Vennis, and Ziah. McKenna was also eating with us, she's cut off in the purple :( she's Addison's big sis.

I love Bear Lake! So does Jake, like a lot! I'm glad we could go!!

Diamond

I posted about all of the other horses so I figured I better post about Diamond, plus he's cute and little and sweet so I want to anyways! (I know I also didn't post about Sierra but she's not little or sweet... Just cute. Maybe when Jake shoes her, now that she's trimmed, I'll take pics of her.) Diamond is an Icelandic Pony. He is older than Jake! Jake has sooo many memories with this pony and it's old friend, Snow, who is not alive anymore.

Jake's sister Kiralee and her hubby Isaac and their three girls are visiting for our wedding and for the family trip to Bear Lake. The other day Isaac and I took the older two girls, Lilyah and Annika, on a horseback ride around the yard!

When Jake was finishing trimming the horses I looked over and saw Diamond totally shaking his butt like he was dancing to some music!

A closer look showed he was totally scratching his butt on the barbed wire fence!!!! It made me laugh sooo hard!!

He's a gentle and nice funny little pony and I like him! He can even hold Jake and I! We don't really ride him, but we could! Which is crazy to me cause he's so small.

Our Car!

Jake and I bought a car! It's so cute! It's a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. Only 47,000 miles (which is A LOT LESS than everything else we found and for a better price-love connections!). The exterior is a blue called "tidal wave" and the interior is gray. I've been thinking of names since I first saw it at Outfitters. I thought of Alex, Polu ("blue" in Hawaiian. My last car was green and I named it Omaomao, "green" in Hawaiian.), Lola, and Pascal... We decided on.....

MARCIE! Lol Jake thought of it and I think it's cute and I know a Marcie Grimes and she is so sweet and amazing so it's a good name :)

It has two good tires and two not as good tires. So of course Jake moved the two best ones to the front of the car and the other two on the back. There was also a dent on the passenger side door and I meant to take a before and after pic but Dad C and Jake fixed it too fast! Didn't even chip the paint and you can hardly tell.

Jake moving the tires around.

Can hardly even tell that the corner of the door was totally bent outwards.

I love Lil Marcie and I'm SO GRATEFUL that Jake and I have our own car now! And that he loves cars so this one will be spoiled rotten and will be really well taken care of so we are going to have her for FOREVER.

Learning About My Weaknesses

So today was our first Sunday at our first official married ward....

Jake loved it. Totally loved it. He loves meeting new people and loves new situations like this. On the ride home he just talked about what great men our ward is full of and how he really can't wait to get to know people better.

I, however, really didn't like it. I don't like girls. I think they are snobby and rude and judgmental and immature and clique-ish. So sacrament meeting was fine (even though we went to the wrong meeting... Two chapels that start sacrament meeting at the same time... Woops.) and Sunday school was fine. But Sunday school ended and all of a sudden I was sitting alone and everyone else was sitting with other girls talking and having a great time. I looked around to see if anyone was sitting alone or even if there was a group who was not in the middle of a conversation. NOTHING. Everyone was talking away with each other about different things. So I just sat there and tried to smile a little so that I looked approachable... Haha. Anyways one girl, the first counselors wife, sat by me. Which was SO sweet I want to bless her forever and ever and her future kiddos and her future grandbabies that was just SO NICE of her! But she is really shy like me so our conversation didn't last long. Which was fine. But I felt bad. Funny side story though, turns out she was the new head resident who took over Perkins Hall when I moved out. So I met her once when she did my white glove clean check before I left. I don't know if she remembers me though. ANYWAYS. Weaknesses. That's all I noticed about myself today. The lesson today was even about talents. But all I saw in myself was a girl who was too young to be in this ward, who could not contribute in any way, and who was not outgoing or social or cute or anything. It was a bummer.

So this will be a challenge, which might be kind of pathetic, but that's how it is with me. I need to work on reaching out and being confident enough to make new friends. But it's discouraging because I have tried that before, in Louisiana. I decided to be excited to meet new people and make new friends. While I made a bunch of acquaintances, I made a total of ONE friend at school. One. And that was just because she was pregnant so she couldn't party anymore, she had to act Mormon basically. So I already know this is something I am awful at. But I'm pretty determined! We'll see how determined I feel next Sunday though haha.

But after church today I was even more grateful for Jake. I definitely don't know what I did to deserve him. But I'm grateful that even when no one else knows me enough to be my friend or give me a chance, when I go home I have a husband who loves me exactly the way I am.

Meet The Hulk

I love him. Even though his picture is being stubborn and won't stand upright.
