Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve day we made gingerbread houses! We actually didn't decorate them until Monday after Christmas so there's another post on that. We also played Sequence which is so fun it's on my list to buy for Jake and I. And we had a delicious dinner.

While we were playing the game, Jake and Joseph were being really annoying.....

We did half of our Christmas on Christmas Eve because Christmas day was going to be a little crazy. Also another post about that. So we did our traditional acting out of the Christmas story. I was Mary, Joseph was Joseph, Jake was the Donkey and the manger, Sari was the angel, and Daniel and Matthew were the shepherds and wisemen.

During all this Joseph (who I was standing right next to, as Mary) totally ripped a big one and immediately EVERYONE cleared the room... except Jake. He just laid there! So one of us said, "Jake how are you still in there??" And then Sari said, "It was his only defense..." HAHAHAHAHAHA! That's a quote from the Christmas Story for any of you who have not lived your life and watched it enough times to know that on your own. It was sooooo funny! So then the kiddos opened most of their gifts and Jake and I were surprised with a few gifts too! Of course the first gift everyone opened was a new pair of pajamas!
Aren't these fantastic??

Jake and I had Matthew's name this year. We got him a Red Rider BB Gun and 6000 BB's. Here's how that went down....

At least I know he loves Jake, right??

After the kids went to bed, Jake, my Dad, and I went to go deliver a Secret Santa. It was so fun! We did it and drove back a few minutes later and it had been picked up! So exciting! Then we went to bed so Santa could drop off our gifts!

Dad Sant's Birthday!

I personally love that his birthday is so close to Christmas because it means we get to see him on his day whenever we visit for Christmas break! My dad is a great guy. Here's everyone's favorite things about him:

Mom Sant: His integrity
Jake: How alike we are.
Rachel: He is patient and understanding.
Ben: He is always calm and fun to be around.
Sari: His willingness and ability to help with math.
Daniel: He is like the best dad ever.
Joseph: He is thoughtful.
Matthew: He works for us.

Here's a couple pictures :)

I love you, Dad!

Christmas in Utah!

Saturday we drove to Willard, Utah for Grandpa Great's annual Christmas party. We both worked all day Friday and then Friday night we were making Christmas gifts so Saturday morning we had to pack and clean our house so we were almost an hour late to grandpa's party! But it was a lot of fun! We did a white elephant gift exchange and ate yummy food. It was Ramona's (my aunt Teilani's) birthday so we also sang to her. Here's a bunch of pictures from that

Then on Sunday we went to church with Grandma, Grandpa, and Destry. After sacrament meeting Jake, Destry, and I picked up Ben and Kaye! We had a mini Christmas then we watched One Missed Call.... One of our gifts from Ben. Here's pictures from all that!

On Monday Jake and I went to Ben and Kaye's house and watched a totally scary movie, High Tension. Don't recommend it. Then we watched Despicable Me. Then the four of us went to Temple Square with Grandma, Grandpa, and Destry. Here are the pictures from that day.

THEN it as Tuesday and Jake and I flew to Louisiana!!!! More on that soon!!!

Early Christmas!

Since Jake and I will be in Louisiana for Christmas and we didn't want to fly our gifts down there, we did an early Christmas! We kept one small gift each for each other to open down there and a pair of PJ's each to open on Christmas eve. :) We leave this Saturday morning for my Great Grandpa Harding's Christmas party and then we will be in SLC with my Hathaway grandparents until Tuesday morning bright and early when we fly to Louisiana! SO EXCITED!!

This week is crazy though. I have two hard finals, three visit teaching appointments (I'm giving the messages), plus my visiting teachers coming over, work Mon-Fri from 1-8 and classes Mon and Wed until noon, then my exams are on Wed and Thur in the morning. AHHHHH so basically I have no studying time. Oh, and Jake is trying to start a side job where he makes wooden toys and sells them online and in his brother store. So we've been up at his parents house deciding which toys he should make and how many of each and trying to figure all that out. Shoot, I just remembered I need to find a primary sub for this Sunday and for January 1. Okay so now this post is just turning into me organizing my thoughts and what I need to do this week.... Moving on....

Early Christmas. We celebrated it after church. It was fun :)

Then we went next door to the Baker's house for dinner. It was waaaay yummy. We brought chocolate chip cookies. (Note to self: NOT as good as momsy's recipe.) They have a one year old son and he is THE cutest. Jake was throwing the football to him to try and teach him how to catch and one time Jake threw it and Sam missed it and Jake said, "Oops, bad throw." Then after that whenever Sam missed the ball he said, "Bad throw!!" Hahahaha in his little baby accent. It was super funny and cute. Then we brought over a few games and decided to play Tripoly.... Jake and I love that game and my family loves it but I'm not sure if they did. It's a poker game and since they were still dressed in their Sunday clothes at like 6 pm they don't really strike me as the type of people who would be okay with that... But whether they were or not, we all had a lot of fun. Everyone made jokes and laughed and Caleb kicked our trash and won big time so.... I'm glad we played it! Haha it's super fun!

Merry Christmas! :)

Elf Magic....

Okay confession: Jake and I bought two magic elves and a magic reindeer from Santa Claus. Don't hate.

So I was thinking until we had kids they would just sit on our tree looking cute... But my husband had different plans...

When I got home from work there was a note on the front door that said,

Quicker than a flash we came alive! We made ourselves useful and cleaned up the house! And with our love we left you a treat see if you can find it! Love, your little magic elves. P.S. Come and find us I think you will be surprised!

So I went inside and Jake was making enchiladas (YUM!!!!) and said to go look upstairs. So I went upstairs and this is what I found:

Christmas bedding and my fav Christmas candy. Hahahaha my husband is SO CHEESY and SO CUTE and SO SWEET. Seriously. I love it.

So, to introduce our elves, they come named and we got Andy and Beth. We name the reindeer and it's between Cupid and Comet even though comet makes me think of toilet cleaner. It's still up in the air so we'll see :) cause it's SUCH a big decision, right??

I love the Christmas season!

P.S. The enchiladas were delicious!!
