Lia Is Growing Up So Fast!

Okay something for EVERYONE to look forward to: I have finally gotten permission from Jake to paint Lia's hooves for Christmas! We're gonna paint them all red! It's going to be so cute and funny.

Here's a bunch of pictures of Lia!!

I hadn't brushed her side yet so it's all dirty

I love her!

This is what she does when she realizes who Jake and I are, runs right on over!

She totally warmed up to us picking up her feet so fast!

She totally knows her name because I was standing with the camera and said, "hey Lia" and she looked right over! :)

I know it's cheesy but I feel SO lucky to have married someone who loves horses because now I can't imagine not being able to ride and train and play with them. I love them.

Look she just stands there with the blanket on

So easy to put the saddle on

She doesn't like the bit but she'll let you put it on her.

She drives and steers so perfect

Look at her lip, I was itching a good spot! Cute story: I was itching behind her front leg and she leaned over and started scratching my leg with her nose!! So cute! That's what horses do for each other.

Walking by the geldings...

Buck and Lia!!!! <3

Left to right there's Buck, Diego, Lightning, Spur

This blue box is noisy so it desensitizes her to sounds when riding

This is Fury. She almost choked on a rope and when I pulled it away she came over to the fence and did this:

I was on the phone with my momsy when this pic was taken but I was just rubbing her tummy and she dropped her head and closed her eyes she was sooo calm

I. LOVE. HORSE. HUGS.
SO.MUCH.

Here is proof that the Cromwell's geldings love Lia. Left to right it's Diego, Buck, Lightning, and Spur.

Me being brave and picking up Lia's feet for the first time ever, thank you!

It's so sad when we leave she follows us all the way to the fence and looks at us like, "Wait! Don't go!"

Jake and I love Lia so much. She is so fun. Another cute story: I went to go play with her and I walked in and she came right up to me and was doing so good just standing there for me. Then I grabbed the halter and she immediately ran the opposite direction! I was so mad at her for being so bad! I tried and tried to catch her and I just couldn't she would stand and look at me and then when I got close enough she would run off! So finally I gave up and I hung the rope and halter back up and sat on the fence. She walked up to me, looked at me for a second, and then walked right over to the rope and halter and just stood there with her nose to it! I got down and went over there, expected her to run away, but she just stood there and let me put it on! She was just playing a game with me that whole time. SO STINKIN' CUTE!!!! She is so good and so fun and sweet.

That's It, I Don't Deserve Him!

So today I had a REALLY BAD day at work. First, a hairdresser asked me to go fetch something out of the giant nasty outside dumpster for her (ummm. NO, witch.) I was SHOCKED at the lack of respect she must have for me to have said that. Ouch. Then, one of the hairdressers took an hour and a half to do two haircuts!!!! RIDICULOUS! Then said she didn't have time to do the perm that she was scheduled to do. (which, btw, the girl who was getting the perm done had already been waiting for half an hour but this hairdresser was just way behind) So.... that's her decision and her job to tell the girl that she is running behind and she's sorry but she can't do the perm. NOT my job, all of the hairdressers know that and take care of those things on their own. Well this girl expected me to tell the perm girl. She said, "I don't have time, so go tell her to just go home." I'm a push over so I did! UGH. The chick wasn't too happy about it. I hate being the bad guy, everyone always thinks it's my fault. The perm girl got mad and said, "first you couldn't get my friend in for a haircut and now you aren't even going to do my perm?" So I had to act apologetic and professional even though none of it was my fault. Oh, and the hairdresser didn't even say a single thank you or sorry. RUUUUUUDE! SO RUDE! Then, I was gathering the girls dirty towels and one of their cupboards closed loudly, I did not even think twice about it. But when I kept walking to the next cupboard a mean old lady who I work with said, "no need to slam doors, my gosh!" Okay this lady does not like me and gets mad at me for EVERYTHING. I ignored her and kept grabbing towels and listened to her tell her client that "that girl is going to break every door in this place..." HUH? Excuse me? Rude random exaggeration. THEN!!! I was taking the garbage bags out to the dumpster and I walked out right at the same time that some idiot teenager came speeding out of the alley and he came *THIS* close to hitting me!! I jumped back and dropped all the garbage bags and he sped off! Gave me a heart attack!!

SO. Bad day. And so I got home and there was a note on the front door that said,

"Hey cutie!! Hope you had a good day! Come in and go straight upstairs and look in the extra bedroom!"

So I went upstairs and he had cleaned it all up and vacuumed! For the last like two months we've been carrying a friend's storage for them and it's just been a mess in there and it has been driving me nuts. In that room there was a note that said,

"Hey sexy! Now you can enjoy a clean guest room! P.S. Now go to the bedroom!"

So I go into the bedroom and it's been vacuumed, the clothes are put away, the sheets were freshly washed, the Borne movies were on the bed (my favorite movies) and a shirt that I broke was on the bed, all fixed!! There was a note that said,

"I love you oh so much! And look, I finally fixed your shirt that I promised I would! P.S. Now go to our bathroom!"

The bathroom was all clean (I've been whining about it but haven't gotten around to cleaning it this week.) and on the counter was a shower cap! Which I know sounds silly but I don't like shampooing my hair every night and he just thought he'd get me a shower cap cause I didn't have one! SO thoughtful if you ask me! In the bathroom was a note that said,

"Now you have a clean bathroom and you don't have to worry about getting your hair wet in the shower when you don't want to! P.S. Now go downstairs and look on the table!"

I found my hubby sitting at the table and there were flowers and a note that had arrows pointing to the movie P.S. I Love You, another one of my favorites. I MELTED! Then he turned on the song Hero by Enrique Iglesias (favorite song!) and we danced to it.

I LOVE my husband so much. My gosh. The entire house was vacuumed, swept, mopped, all three bathrooms were scrubbed, dishes were done, the stove was clean, the laundry was done, EVERYTHING. I SERIOUSLY do not deserve this man. I have no idea what I did to get him to marry me! He does so much for me. I need to work on how to show him that I love him and appreciate him because he is SO good at showing me!

Weekend in Utah

We drove to UT Friday after work! We borrowed the Cromwell's excursion because we had to bring Jake's friends from his mission their boxes from their storage unit. We saw them on Saturday morning and we gave them their boxes and chatted with them for a while. Then we went to the Salt Lake City temple!! I've wanted to see a live session ever since I heard they do that! It was super cool. That temple is so gorgeous, I want a tour of the whole building! After the temple we changed and then picked up my brother Ben and his girlfriend Kaye. We went to a movie (Captain America. We were in the 2nd row and sitting that close makes me sick so I got nothing out of it. Jake loved it and says it's up there with Superman on his list.) and then we went out to eat at my FAVORITE restaurant The Cracker Barrel. It was great to meet Kaye, her and Ben are cute.

Here they are at Cracker Barrel in their matching blue shirts ;)

Jake and I at Cracker Barrel

I wish we had pictures of us outside the temple but YEAH RIGHT!!! That has got to be the busiest temple ever. I also wish I got pics of us with his friends from St. Lucia (Sister D. and Dior) but I didn't even think about it until after we left.

On Sunday we went to church with Grandma and Grandpa Hathaway. I really like their ward. I even feel comfortable in Relief Society! A little bit of crazy lives in their ward but it's entertaining. After church we hung out with Grandma and Grandpa for a bit and ate with them. They gave us our first Christmas ornament!! It's soooo cute!

A close up of the ornament.

Before we went home we visited Destry at Hugh and Stephanie's house. They just got married and they are super sweet and cute and fun. They fed us yummy dinner and dessert, showed us pictures and videos of Logan, and gave us pumpkins! Which I've been wanting to go get from the store! And Steph's boys are so cute they LOVE Jake's duck voice, it's hilarious. I heart Destry so it was so good to see her!

Here are two pics we took:
Jake being a stud :)

Jake and I :)

P.S. Funny quote of the night from Jake talking to one of his single friends about getting a date to go to the basketball game, "Just ask a random girl on the street, like a contact!" Hahaha from one RM to the next, I guess.

General Conference Oct. 2011

We spent the weekend of general conference at the Cromwell's Bear Lake Cabin! It was such a nice get away! The fall colors amaze me every year! Conference, as usual, was awesome. Go here to watch or read the talks :)

Horse Update

These are the boy horses at the Cromwell's. Left to right it's Spur, Buck, lightning, and Diego. Every single time we walk Lia by their coral, they RUN over and stare until we are out of sight. Even if they're eating!!! It's hilarious.

So on Saturday I got off work at 6, before dark, so I met Jake at the Cromwell's to work with Lia. It's been snowy and rainy so it was super muddy. Jake was doing something with Lia and I was bored, and I noticed Diamond was just sitting around like always. Normally he is living with a horse that makes him run away and fight for food and stuff but Lia and Diamond are so chill together that now he is practically dead, he never moves around. So I thought I'd give him a little exercise! I started clicking and running after him and I got him running! But we were running in a circle and I just totally BIFFED it right in the mud, in my fav jeans and hoodie!! Jake thought it was HILARIOUS and took this pic of me pouting on his cell phone.
It won't turn over, so sorry it's sideways. I was so mad! My whole side was muddy this pic doesn't do it justice. But Diamond felt bad, right away as soon as I fell he stopped running and walked back to me, which Diamond doesn't do. He's old and avoids people.

Update on the other horses, they're all fat. The four boys up in the top picture aren't too bad but the four mares are HUGE. And have not been ridden in forever. But now I'm scared of them, even Shade, because they are so big compared to little Lia.

AND an update on Lightning, when the guys went horse packing and I said no one got hurt except Lightning but he'll be fine... LIE! He broke his tail! Like the bone at the very top of the tail! It looks so sad and he never moves anymore unless he's hungry or Lia walks by. And there's nothing anyone can do about it. Poor Lightning.

That's all. :)
