Quickie Trip to Utah!

Jake and I went down to Utah to visit my grandma and grandpa Hathaway. We LOVE visiting them! i learn something new from my grandma every time that I am there. I love it. I could spend an entire summer one on one with her just learning how to be an awesome homemaker. She knows everything from music, piano, singing, to sewing, quilting, embroidery, crocheting, to cooking to canning and so much more. I'm grateful for the memories I have with her!

Jake and I have a tradition that we want to do (found it on pinterest!). For our one year anniversary we take a picture of us holding one of our wedding pictures. Then we'll frame that picture and take a picture of us holding it on our second year anniversary, on and on forever! I think it's such a fun idea!! We took a crappy one in Lava Hot Springs, where we went for our 1st anniversary, because we thought that it would be fun to have the picture be taken where we went for our anniversary. But I wanted a better picture. So while we were there my grandpa took some pictures for us! We went to temple square area to take them. But while we were down there we went on a tour of the conference center! AMAZING place! I want to be in a live session of general conference so bad! Someday, for sure. They had HUGE paintings. The statue of Joseph Smiths first visions was so special... I love how it shows so much emotion in Joseph and the little detail he made of Heavenly Fathers arm on the Saviors back. President Monson's statue thing was my favorite because he looks so friendly and kind!

Jake, always the goof and cheesy romantic (I love it), wanted to reenact our pose in the wedding picture... Haha. Here's how that one turned out... ;)

We then went back to the grandparents house and grandma taught Jake and I how to make her FAMOUS DELICIOUS applesauce!!! Jake LOVES it! And it's a well known fact that I love it, too. (Holla MoniQ!! If you even read this.. :p) We also learned how to can it! Canning is really not the nightmare that I thought it was... I don't even know how I got my opinion of canning in the first place but I really was content to never can ever. It's not that bad! I even started a canning board on pinterest to help me learn how, haha! We ended up coming home with the nine cans of applesauce that we made and with nine more cans of peaches! Plus a big bucket filled with giant pears! We are so spoiled!! My grandma also gave us (but I think my momsy made them, right ma?) these so cute and so funny mason jar wine glasses! I like, LOVE mason jars. They are so cool! They have endless possible uses. Anyways, I want like 8 more of these mason jar wine glasses!!

This little trip was such a good break after moving and starting school. Speaking of school, online classes are soooo time consuming. Which I expected. But it's still hard! I am taking 2 online classes, 2 campus classes, and 2 second block campus classes. I love block classes, they rock. They are just classes that are compacted so they go for half of the semester. My fall 2nd block classes start October 25 and end December 15 with my other classes. Jake is taking one online class, three campus classes, and one block class. We ended up having three classes together, accidently! I love it! We wanted to have a religion class together and we wanted to take money management together. Then, long story short, I ended up signing him up for one of my 2nd block classes without realizing it! It has been so much fun. We only go up to Rexburg on Tuesdays and Thursdays so it's not bad at all. I love the drive because it's the only time of the week that we're not busy busy going going going and we can actually talk. I LOVE IT.

So, the post on our new apartment is still coming up. I just need to take pictures!
