Bump-Date! 38 Weeks!

Today's Date? September 8

How far along? THIRTY EIGHT weeks!! Oh my gosh!!! This might be my last bump-date!

Baby's Size? He is around 19+ inches and almost 7 lbs!

Days until next doctors appointment? I had one today with the PA, Becky. She said my BP was high again. She said I have a little bit of toxemia. So I am continuing bedrest and going in Wednesday the 10th and Thursday the 11th. On the 10th I'll see Becky again because my doctor is still gone. On Thursday I'll see my doctor. We have an induction scheduled with the hospital for Wednesday the 17th, but Becky said that she would rather do it this Friday the 12 to be safe because of the toxemia thing. So when my doc gets back in town she is going to talk to him and we will find out on Thursday what day for sure this little man is coming! It's crazy that this could be my last bump date and we could be meeting our little boy this very week! Over the weekend, on Saturday, I went to labor and delivery again because I was in a lot of pain and was contracting a lot. It wasn't regular yet but I didn't want it to get regular because I am still on my bloodthinner and if I go into labor while on my blood thinner then I can't have an epidural and that would NOT BE OKAY! So we went in and I am glad we did because they found that I have a UTI. I have never had one before so I didn't know the signs of it. They caught it really early and I am so glad! Other than that I am still at 80% and a 2. BP goes way up whenever I sit up or walk around or do anything. Boo.

Total weight gain/loss? + 26 lbs! Last week I was up 29 lbs. I think maybe I am eating less trying to stay down all day?

Maternity clothes? Yes.

Stretch marks? Yes.

Sleep? What is sleep?

Best moment this week? Just all of the reassurance that Eli is okay. I am irrationally panicky lately and between hating my doctor and not really trusting him and his judgements in the delivery room, my factor 5, my lovenox, now my toxemia, having a UTI, etc., I seriously wonder how anyone lives through pregnancy, labor, and delivery! It's so hard! And when I feel so crappy and am having complications it makes me paranoid about Eli. And he goes through super duper active phases where he is non stop moving like crazy for days and then is quiet for days. And it freaks me out! But the upside of all of the complications is that I get to know that he is doing just fine because they always monitor or check him too. I want a healthy happy baby boy!

Movement? Yeah. He has been quiet lately compared to his usual activity but enough that I know he's still in there! ;)

Food cravings? My latest FAVORITE breakfast is scrambled eggs with some cream cheese scrambled in with the egg and spread that on a bagel and then a bowl of mixed berry yogurt with apple slices, banana slices, and mandarin oranges. SO YUM! Grapes and cheese. Apples and PB. Rice. Spaghetti. Peaches and cottage cheese. Bananas. Danimals drinkable yogurt things! The same pretty much.

Anything making you queasy or sick? I have been feeling just kind of yucky lately. I think staying down all day does that to you!

Have you started to show yet? For sure!

Missing anything? I really miss sleeping on my back! I miss not hurting all over. I miss feeling healthy and strong.

Gender of baby? BOY! :)

Labor signs? Nothing too exciting, just fake labor stuff.

Belly button in or out? Out or flat!

Wedding rings on or off? Off!

Happy or moody most of the time? Just happy and excited and nervous and freaking out and every other emotion that exists!

Pregnancy symptoms this week? Heartburn. Leg cramps. Tired. Thirsty. Hip pain. Lower back pain. Braxton hicks/contractions. Weird vision. Dry eyes, I never wear my contacts anymore (unless I am leaving the house I guess but that never happens these days with bed rest) and everyone knows how much I hate my glasses.

Looking forward to? My body recovering! Meeting Eli! Seeing Jake be a dad! Being DONE with labor and delivery because I am so nervous for that!

Bump-Date! 37 Weeks!

Today's Date? September 1

How far along? THIRTY SEVEN weeks!!

Baby's Size? He is around 19+ inches and a little over 6 lbs!

Days until next doctors appointment? I had one on Tuesday, September 2. But as usual I am posting this late! I saw the PA because my doctor is out of town. I love the PA, I will miss her when I switch doctors. At the appointment we found I was 80% effaced and dilated to a 2. Also my blood pressure had jumped from my usual numbers. So she had me reschedule for this week on Thursday. When I got home and was talking to my mom she told me that my dad's sisters get toximia when they are pregnant. Because I inherited factor v leiden from them too I wanted to let the doctor know that and see what she said. So I called and told them and she sent me to labor and delivery to be monitored for a bit. While I was there my bp numbers were way way lower than they had been at the doctors office. I can't figure out why, I wasn't nervous or worked up earlier. If anything my bp should be higher when I see my actual doctor because I really don't like him! But I love the PA. Anyways, I was super glad that my bp was lower because toxemia sounds super duper not at all fun and I don't want it! I was having regular contractions while I was at L&D. I'm not totally sure what that means because they didn't hurt and I couldn't really understand the chart thing that the computer was recording of my contractions. But that's what the nurse said about them. So, long story short, I am on bed rest to keep my bp low (and to make sure this baby doesn't come while I am on lovenox because I WILL die if I can't have an epidural). We'll see when this baby boy decides to come!

Total weight gain/loss? + 29 lbs!

Maternity clothes? Yes.

Stretch marks? Yes.

Sleep? It has been bad lately. Now I know it's because I've been having either early or false labor! Who knew? I just thought it was a symptom of the baby getting bigger!

Best moment this week? Hm... My upper back has stopped hurting? Haha that's so lame but I don't know. I haven't been finishing little tiny sewing projects because after two minutes my back would hurt soooo baaaaad that I was like FORGET THIS nevermind. And now I'm on bedrest! Dang it! Haha but I like my upper back not hurting so badly.

Movement? Yep! One thing I will miss about pregnancy is always feeling him move. Except for the painful movements... ;) but I'm going to miss the rest of them!

Food cravings? My latest FAVORITE breakfast is scrambled eggs with some cream cheese scrambled in with the egg and spread that on a bagel and then a bowl of mixed berry yogurt with apple slices, banana slices, and mandarin oranges. SO YUM! I still eat a lot of cereal. I like grapes and cheese. Apples and PB. Rice. Spaghetti. Peaches and cottage cheese. Bananas. Danimals drinkable yogurt things!

Anything making you queasy or sick? If I am really tired or if I over-do it or if I let myself get hungry then I start to feel really crappy.

Have you started to show yet? Uhm yes!

Missing anything? I really miss sleeping on my back! I miss not hurting all over.

Gender of baby? BOY! :)

Labor signs? I guess so! Since my appointment I have been having lots more contractions/braxton hicks/whatever they are even though I've been taking it really easy. I have tons of pressure down thur. I can tell his head is as low as the PA said it is. My hips feel terrible.

Belly button in or out? Flat usually but a little bit out!

Wedding rings on or off? OFF! I put it back on one night and it took most of the next day for the swelling to go down enough to get it off! Officially staying off until the baby gets here!

Happy or moody most of the time? I think I am pretty pleasant... haha. I really do though. Very anxious and nervous all the time, but not moody!

Pregnancy symptoms this week? Heartburn. Leg cramps. I'm super tired. I am always thirsty. I have hip pain. Lower back pain. Braxton hicks/contractions. My vision is weird and annoying.

Looking forward to? MEETING MY SON! I just want him here! But I kind of want him here on his induction date because that feels a little less scary! But we are all ready to go! We have everything cleaned and set up and ready for him to be here! Hospital bag packed and READY! For reals this time, last time it was set aside and I was in the process of it being packed and ready haha. This week it really is! After yesterday that was my first priority!

The Name Game

I've been picking out my future kid's names for as long as I can remember. Seriously, I think there's a list of names in my first journal from when I was 8. Jake and I have been talking about names since we started trying to get pregnant. So we've been through quite a few! We had a few boy names that we like and a lot of girl names that we like.

Our top three girl names were
Emma Elizabeth
Ruby Lucille
Anya Grace
(And since we've fallen in love with the name Evelyn!)
We both felt like we KNEW we were having a girl and we decided on Emma Elizabeth. Loved it, referred to the baby as it, and thought it was perfect!

Then, to our happy surprise, we found out it was a boy! At the time, our four boy names that we liked were
William Dean
Wyatt George
Wade Joseph
Wesley Jake
I'm not sure why all the W's, we just happen to agree on them! Jake really likes Gabriel, I really like Lucas. But we don't agree on them. Once we found out it was a boy, our boy names seemed all wrong.

It doesn't help that on the Cromwell side this is grand baby number 33 of 34 (there's one due about two months after ours) and family member number 56 of 57 and counting! So there's a lot of no-no names.

But on the Sant side this will be grandchild #1, maybe 2 (my brother's wife is expecting about 3 weeks after me, so ya never know) ((since starting this blog post she has been born!)).

So that night we found out it was a boy I couldn't sleep and was looking through lists of names for boys. Any that stuck out to me at all I wrote down. The next morning I read them to Jake and he said Eli/Elijah was his favorite. Within a few days that's just what he was calling him! I really liked it but worried that if we became dead set on it, like we were with William, that it would end up being wrong again. But now, at 37 + weeks I think we're pretty much settled for good! He's just an Eli.

For middle names we like Joseph, Dean, and Matthew. Jake's middle name is Joseph, his dad's middle name is Joseph, my brother's name is Joseph, and it runs way back on my side. Dean would be after my dad, it's his middle name. And Matthew is my brother's name, and Jake's BEST friend's name. I think we will do Eli Joseph, but we'll see!

Louisiana Spring 2014

Jake and I got to spend two weeks in Louisiana with my family! I hate when I put off blogging for so long that I forget most of the details! So I'm going to do a photo essay.
Sari's graduation

Seminary graduation

Matt's end of the year kickball tournament

Merlynn and Brycen came and visited

We went to a plantation

Jake worked on the boy's closet all week

We went to New Orleans and saw this cute onsie, but didn't buy it because it was like 20 bucks if I remember right.

I got super dehydrated and spent a day in the hospital, the WRONG hospital that doesn't take my insurance so I am going to be paying them for a long time.... SUCKS.

There was plenty of basketball being played

Lots of late night card games

We went swimming on Memorial Day

Ate the most delicious fried turkey!

Jake had the honor of slicing the turkey

My father is way darker than I am. Sad.

Goofing off during late night card games.

My mom, Sari, and I found this amazing fabric combination that has become Eli's nursery.

We went on a swamp tour. Jake and I wish that we had been able to go on the Cajun Pride Swamp Tour because they put on a little more of a show and have massive alligators and let you hold a baby alligator. It's really fun and super cool. But this one was too. We got rained on and that was an adventure.

I think this was the biggest gator we saw.

Mom and Jo trying to stay dry

Jake and I trying to stay dry

We were SOAKED so we tried drying off at a cool little rest stop with a little museum.

Part of the museum.

We got to eat at Izzo's Illegal Burrito which is sooo yummy. Jake got their biggest size.

This is us when we left for Utah

Jake sat next to these two.... They were SO DRUNK. Especially her. She could hardly walk. They were very entertaining and hilarious.

We were so lucky because once we flew into SLC we got to stop by Jake's sister Kayla's house and see her little baby Molly who was born while we were in Louisiana.

Thanks for letting us visit, Sants!
