Yellowstone!

This weekend Jake and I went to Yellowstone!

First we stopped on the side of the rode and walked down by the river to get a closer look at these animals!

We stopped at a place called firehole spot... Or something. It was cool!

We put our fingers in the water. HOT. haha

It's so cool to me.

After that we continued towards Old Faithful! We stopped here to see this big elk or something that was right on the side of the rode!

He was right there so close! It was exciting

We also saw a ton of bison throughout the drive.

At one point we couldn't even drive we had to inch our way through them!

It was way cool!

We also stopped at Midway Geyser. It was SO cool!

The ground looked like this all around the board path we walked on

I thought this blue and orange looked pretty together!

At the beginning of midway geyser, you walk across this huge bridge and you can see where the geyser runs into the river.

It is so pretty.

I think this next set of pictures is from the lower geyser... It was just another one of the stops we made on our way to Old Faithful!

This was called painted springs I think. It looked like orange bubbling mud.

We were challenged at taking pictures of ourselves for a little bit... Even though we had a front lcd screen made just for taking pics of yourself haha.....

Attempt 1 hahaha

Attempt like 5... We got it! But my head was in the way of the exploding geyser.

After that some guy asked if he could take our picture for us... LOL
It turned out good, thank you, sir!

This was at lower basin I believe.... It was a fun walk!

When we got to Old Faithful the timing was perfect. It went off like 5 minutes after we got there. It was cool. After it went off we went into the visitors center and watched a 15 minute movie about the geysers in Yellowstone. It was interesting!
This was taken after Old Faithful went off, it was starting to go back down.

After we saw Old Faithful we decided to go to Mammoth Springs!
This tree was just so cool we had to take a picture on it!

Most of Mammoth Springs geyser was dead but there were a few parts that still had water and color like this one and...

This one.

Most of it looked like this though.

Or this.

But it was way fun and cool to explore!

It was a great weekend!! :)

what i've been up to!

First of all, this week called for a lot of this! Aimee and I both are addicted to ice cream and we eat some every day.

Last weekend on Saturday I went to Jake's house again! We spent Saturday shopping for shoes. I really need actual shoes and I want sperry's so bad!

OR....

WOULD BE PERFECT.
So I won't settle for anything else. But we didn't find any :( so I need to make a trip down to Utah and look for them there. When we were done shopping and goofing off at the mall, we went back to his house and went on a surry ride! It was SO COOL! And SO FUN! We went with his mom and dad one time and the next time around his sister Shalina and her hubby Dane came with us. Then his brother Tyson hopped on... Those horses can pull a lot of weight! We had a lot of fun! We stayed up until midnight watching Bounty Hunter. That's such a funny movie! We all really liked it. At midnight we all sang happy birthday to his sweet mom!

Brother Cromwell, me, Jake, Dane and Shalina!

So Sunday was Sister Cromwell's birthday! We went to church. We came home and baked two cakes, one for Jake's mom and one for a girl named Sarah from the Caribbean. Jake baptized her on his mission. She is here at BYU Idaho and is so nice. Jake and I go visit her every few weeks. After we made the cake and ate lunch everyone took a nap. Then we skyped Jake's older sister Kiralee and her family. I know Kiralee and her hubby Isaac and two of their daughters because I met them last Thanksgiving at my uncle Jon's house. Isaac and his family were there cause Isaac is my aunt Anna's brother. Small world! Later in the day Jake's sister Zhanae and her family came over. She has six ADORABLE little kiddos. Jake and I took two of his little nieces, Ziah (another coincidence, I have a cousin named Zya!) and Vennie, for a ride on the 4 wheeler. We went around and fed the horses. Then rode around for a while. Jake is so fun and cute with his nieces and nephews. I wish I got pics but I'm like the lone photo taker at that house so I feel weird when I take pictures....

On Monday for FHE we did a photo scavenger hunt. It was way fun!

Pumping a stranger's gas for them. Turns out my cousin Julie knows this guy!

Fit everyone in your group on one chair.

Fit everyone on your group under a picnic table.

On Tuesday Jake came and took me to the store to buy food and other things (life saver!). Then we came back to the dorm and cooked spaghetti and garlic bread. It was yummmmmmmy. Then we hung out with Aimee until the other girls came back from a dance. Then we went for a drive.

On Wednesday all of us girls were home, rare occasion. But while Jake and I were out Tuesday night my roommates decided that he and I looked like Meg and Hercules... Then that Aimee and her missionary look like princess Aurora and prince.... whatshisname. And Sasha looks like Mulan. So Meagan decided to be Rapunzel... So on Wednesday when Sasha got home from class she printed out princess pictures for us to color... It was actually a lot of fun I'm not going to lie lol. We all colored our princesses in Aimee's and my (mine and Aimee's?) room then hung them up around the dorm haha. We are such freshman. :)

Meagan coloring Rapunzel and her prince :)

Aimee coloring Aurora and her prince! :)

Sasha coloring Mulan and Shang! :)

i made it!

It has been such a crazy month! and it's only half over!

Anyone who reads this also reads my mom's blog so I'll just let y'all go there to read about me getting here and set up.

My roommates! Meagan, Aimee (we share a room), me, and Sasha!
So I started out taking 16 credits but just had to drop my American Foundations class. Everyone in there was older and more opinionated and ready for the class than I was. The teacher was intimidating and it was just a hard scary class. So now I'm taking 13 credits. There's still so much homework I feel like I'm never completely on top of everything. But it'll get better, right? :)

So my first weekend here was my birthday weekend. I felt so lucky and loved I got a bunch of letters and packages from family and friends. My aunt Trina's sister Tisha came by and brought me a cake and balloons and snickers from my mom. It was so fun to see her and so nice of her to do that!

Delicious!
From my family!

My first bff Brooke Taylor took me to the Cocoa Bean for my birthday! It's only the yummiest place in the world. They have amazing cupcakes and lemonades! Brooke is such a good friend and lifesaver. She's helped me settle here so much!! I love her!

For my birthday I got to go to Idaho Falls with Jake Cromwell! We had such a fun day!! We went horseback riding, swimming, then to a demolition derby! His mom made us such yummy food and dessert too! I was so spoiled the whole weekend. I had so much fun!

Jake and I! :)
Horseback riding is so much fun. So! Much! Fun! I rode their horse Shade.
Jake and I on the horses!
It was such an awesome weekend. Jake and his family made sure I had a great time there. :)

This weekend I went up to Bear Lake with the Cromwells! Another super fun weekend!
This is the view of the lake form their mountain cabin. Super pretty!
Jake and I went 4 wheeling with his mom, dad, and older brother Adam then we went to their lake cabin and got it all closed and ready for winter. When we were done we went back to the mountain cabin and watched The Kid and Nacho Libre or something... Both were funny but I liked The Kid better haha. After that Jake and his little brother Tyson and I went 4 wheeling again. This time I remembered my camera!

This is what we were driving through. It was amazing!

There was a beautiful view of the lake once we got up higher on the mountain.

Another pretty view we found.

I loved all the colors so much! Louisiana is just green all year. Which is also pretty... But this was gorgeous!
Sunset.
It was amazing.

Before it got dark we went to this place that had some hills and jumps! I didn't get a recording of Jake and I going over this jump but here's Tyson going over it! He did it three times and of course the third one was the highest and that's the one I didn't catch.
